Quietly waiting for better times, the Linnahall no longer hosts concerts, but for the summer season of 2011, an installation of 10,000 little bells known from charity campaigns was attached to the ceiling of the 50-metre-long and 30-metre-wide passageway under the building. In that manner, the prematurely retired concert hall once again offered a sonic experience for those who noticed and took a listen. Ringing in the wind and glowing in the light, Chime was also a notional starting point of the Culture Kilometre, which had been built by that summer.
